At the beginning of summer John was calling me Baba--it sounded like he was saying Mama with a cold. He calls his bottle baba but, being his mother, I could usually distinguish between the two. He now calls me Mama again.
We all call Julia Juju and John has learned to call her that as well--Tutu. He calls Maria sister but it sounds like Juju too. Actually, it sounds like titu. Most times we can't tell which he is saying.
If he wants to nurse he'll cuddle up to me and say teta. It used to be tita until a few weeks when he decided he could say lechita. The funny thing is that teta is the Spanish word for nipple.
He's also very convincing when he wants you to do something for him. He'll look at you and wave while saying come on. He's learned to master this at nap time if I've waited too long to put him down. He'll walk down the hallway saying come on Mama.
Just about every afternoon after a nap he'd run to the fridge and yell POP! That was his way of asking for an Otter Pop. :)
My dad worked with him one evening helping him to master his piƱata swing. Well, either Tito is a great coach or John is just a natural stick swinger because now he swings at anything and everything when he as a stick, a tennis racket or a broom in his hands. Just take a look at our stainless steel fridge. It now has 2 lovely dents.
There's more to share, I'm sure, but that's all for this post.
